Free songwriting software that gets the whole band on the same song
The singer has lyrics in a notes app, the guitarist has the riff in a voice memo, the drummer has no idea what the bridge is. Cobander puts the whole song on one timeline in your band's shared folder, so everyone is writing the same song instead of chasing fragments.
Free — the whole app, every song, forever. Intel Mac? Intel Mac download.
Lyrics where they are sung
Type lyrics into a section, or sing a take and let Cobander transcribe the words for you. Each word is pinned to its moment in the song, so the lyric sheet and the recording never drift apart.
Chords on a lane
Put chords on the chord lane above the timeline with a key-aware picker that suggests chords that fit, or let Cobander draft them from a guitar, keys or bass take. Transpose the chart for a capo in one move.
Structure you can see and move
Start from a song structure, or build one section at a time. Drag a chorus, copy it, link two choruses so a fix to one fixes both, or move the bridge — the recordings go with it.
Melody and ideas
Sing a line and it becomes notes on the melody track, or type a lyric and get a melody to try. A parts bin holds riffs that don't have a song yet; drop one in and it is matched to the song's tempo and key.
Hear it right away
A drum part, a guide melody and a scratch take are enough to hear whether a chorus works. Record over it, keep the good takes, and come back tomorrow to a song that plays.
Everyone knows what's next
Share the song folder and co-writers add lyrics, notes and takes from wherever they are. Leave a note on a bar, tag someone, and track each part from idea to approved.
Your band levels up while you write
Every take, chord, lyric, note and practice minute earns XP. Everyone has 100 levels to climb, the band levels up as songs get finished, and a level-up takes over the whole screen, fanfare included. Achievements, song goals and a countdown to the next show keep the band moving between practices.
Questions
Is it for solo songwriters too?
Yes. Everything works for one person; sharing with a band is optional.
Do I need to know music theory?
No. The chord picker suggests chords in your key and every control explains itself when you hover over it.
What does free include?
Every feature and every song. A one-time Roadie key ($10) is your name on the band leaderboard.
